How does social media engage communications?
I think social media has provided a platform for everyone to build and showcase their brand and expertise. On the other hand, now that people don’t necessarily need to attend interviews and run for office face-to-face, social media platforms have become an important tool for job seekers and employers. Job seekers can upload their CVs to various digital platforms and submit them through a company’s digital account, which increases efficiency for both job seekers and companies hiring for positions.
How does social media challenge communications?
I see two major challenges to communication on social media about employment. First, social media platforms are inundated with a constant stream of information, updates, and notifications. The absolute volume of content can make it difficult to filter the noise and find relevant and reliable information during the workday. This can lead to information overload, making it difficult to communicate effectively and focus on key tasks. On the other hand, the lack of body language and expressions in our communication with others through social media makes it easy to misinterpret messages sent or received in this context.
Is it inclusive?
I think social media is somewhat inclusive because social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook have a large global user base, allowing individuals from different geographic locations to connect and interact. This global reach provides opportunities for cross-cultural communication and promotes understanding and collaboration between people from different backgrounds. However, it is the global nature of many social media platforms that leads to inequality and bias, for example, racism can occur under many posts that show the geographical location of the poster, and I am sure everyone who views social media has seen similar comments or responses about racism. It is something that cannot be avoided.
Does your PLN amplify the views of others?
I have chosen to make public and present some ideas and responses that I think might be equally constructive to others. Opinions that I think are valuable to me may attract more people in the same profession to participate in the discussion.
The policies of employer social media communication expectations.
I think employers often want to build a good company image through social media platforms, and on the other hand, expect employees to demonstrate professionalism and respect when representing the organization on social media. For example, avoiding employees using language that is offensive, discriminatory, or harassing, avoiding sharing sensitive company data, and protecting customer information.

Hi! I just read your post, and I agree with your comment on the fact that due to the constant stream of information on social media, it can be hard to filter out what is useful and what isn’t, leading to some difficulty in communicating with others. Although social media encourages communication in many ways, this is a considerable challenge to face. Great post!!

I agree with your point about the lack of body language and reality in social media communication. I think this is why communication on social media is somewhat misleading. I also strongly agree with the negative effects you mentioned in your inclusion. I think social media should react to this phenomenon by setting up relevant block words.

I couldn’t agree more of you opinions. Especially you mentioned social media platforms inundated with a constant stream of information, updates, and notifications. This situation not only cause information overload situation had happened, but slow down the speed of doing important things.
